On The (Product) Hunt!
Some News On My End
For the last time, I want to thank Insperity for sponsoring the Seedscout Summit last month. Insperity made me realize that there’s more to hiring than just getting Gusto/Rippling and setting up payroll on autopilot. My last company failed because my hiring operations were completely out of sync with reality. Even a simple (free) conversation with Insperity prior to that moment could have potentially saved the company. If you’re curious to simply learn something new about hiring today, reply to this email, and I’d be happy to put you in touch with Tracy from their team in AZ for a chat.
I recently started a contracting gig with Product Hunt. You know, the place where Notion, Stripe, Slack, Robinhood, and dozens of other companies launched their v1 products into the world. Product Hunt is like Reddit for product launches. Every day, 10-20 companies launch their new products/offerings and compete to be ranked #1 on a leaderboard by the end of the day. They get ranked by accumulating support via upvotes and comments throughout the day from their customers, friends, and mostly strangers!
The homepage today
It’s not a small site—it brings in over 1M monthly visitors from all over the world and boasts a newsletter network of over 800k subscribers. My primary job is to sell advertising slots to brands who want to get in front of our audience. Wow, what a cool opportunity. I get to handpick the brands that advertise to the world’s (smartest) earliest adopters. Current advertisers include Notion, Snowflake, Okta, etc. I thought it would be rewarding to give my newsletter subscribers a chance to learn more about our ads, in case any of you are in growth mode and selling to startups or developers.
The Homepage With Ads
If you are, in fact, in growth mode and sell to startups or developers, let’s discuss. It would honestly be a dream to take this newsletter I’ve been cranking on for almost a decade and use it to help a handful of my subscribers in a big way by getting them into our advertiser network. If interested, feel free to reply to this email or email me directly at [email protected], and let’s have a conversation. Be on the lookout for more Product Hunt content coming in the near future too! 🙂
