Knowing Something Can’t Replace Knowing Someone
100 Words A Day (277)
This newsletter is sponsored by Marble Bridge Funding Group. More on them at the bottom of this newsletter.
The world has sold us that knowledge is the answer, but if you read between the lines, access is actually the answer. Knowing something isn’t enough. Getting someone else to care is what matters. Education doesn’t lift people out of poverty. Another human with resources does. Most people don’t get jobs because of their amazing resume. They get a job because someone inside the org vouched for them. The saying “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know” is mainstream but is taken for granted. Knowing something can’t replace knowing someone but knowing someone can aways replace knowing something.
